Events featuring Citizen Science urban bird counts are happening all over Austin and you are invited!
Come learn all about the amazing birds you see right around you everyday and why we want to celebrate their presence in our city! Activities for the entire family including live bird demonstrations, bird sculpting, expert lectures, paddling on the lake for bird photography, kids bird drawing with art gallery shows, hands-on crafts and activities, bird scavenger hunt and more.

The Elisabet Ney Museum in collaboration with Austin Nature and Science Center and Cornell Ornithology Lab presents a Celebration of Urban Birds on the grounds of the Ney Museum. Children , families and bird lovers of all ages are invited to join us on the historic grounds of the Ney to learn about urban birds of Texas. Kids of all ages will learn about the night and day differences between Diurnal and Nocturnal birds of prey that live right here in Austin. Participants will also train their "Hawk Eyes" to spot urban birds and assist in providing valuable data about the lives of urban birds. All participants are encouraged to bring bird watching supplies.
